Welcome to EarthTone Music   EarthTone Music is myself, Stephen Ross, and the various musical friends I play with. We play contemplative and dynamic world music and can create live soundscapes which are suitable for performance venues, movie soundtracks, weddings, rituals and other special occasions. My primary instrument is the Shakuhachi flute, an ancient end-blown Japanese flute with a very contemplative, soothing quality. I also play silver flute, dumbek, tibetan bowls, didjeridu, Roland Handsonic and a specially modified 36 string zither. Many of my music partners are vocalists and as well play a vast array of instruments including piano, celtic harp, sarod, hammered dulcimer, steel drum, guitar, native american flute, didjeridu and various percussion.
