  About The Concert Performers


Janet Carafa
  performs the Art of Mime the essence of communication and physical expression.  She has been well received for 15 years performing, teaching and directing mime.  She has performed for 8 years as lead female company member of the American Mime Theatre.  Much of her solo performance work has been Directed by Marcel Marceau.

Stephen Ross
  has played Shakuhachi flute , an ancient end-blown Japanese instrument since 1979.  He also plays Dumbek, Handsonic, Zither, Silver Flute and Tibetan bowls.  He has performed throughout the country, Hawaii and Europe.  His recent CD, “Earth Tone Music” is a retrospective of two decades of collaboration with various world musicians.

Lisa Sangita Moskow:
 
has gained international recognition for her innovative work with the Sarod, a resonant, multi-stringed lute from North India.  She has spent the last 30 years creating original compositions and unusual ensembles for this instrument. “Yakshi”, her 6th and most recent recording , is a sensuous blend of Easter lyricism, unique rhythms and sacred celebration.

Robert Sequoia

mesmerizes audiences with his dynamic guitar
playing--the fine quality of his music, and his harp-like, fluid touch.  His compositions range from instrumental ballads with beautiful, time-enduring melodies, to upbeat, exotic, world-influenced compositions.  The son of second-generation immigrants, Robert's musical roots go back to his family lineage of Romanian gypsy musicians. Kimba Arem: Kimba Arem is a performing musician, recording artist, producer, composer, workshop coordinator and facilitator, and has been working with sound as a musician since age seven, playing classical piano and later, silver flute. She has been applying sound in a healing context since her introduction to sound therapy when she first trained with Jonathan Goldman in 1995.

Recently, she has been working with noted wholistic physician, Andrew Weil, who is adding sound healing to his naturopathic practice.
Kimba has a bachelors of science in molecular and cellular biology and has had extensive training in acupuncture, herbal medical sciences, nutrition, aromatherapy, and is a Reiki master.

Also Kimba has been traveling with, promoting and playing her healing music with Masaru  Emoto, renowned  researcher of the effects of sound and thought forms on water.  He was featured in the movie "What the Bleep Do We Know?" and has authored several books on the subject, including his most well known, "Messages From Water".

In her sound-sessions and performances, Kimba plays various indigenous and modern instruments around the body such as didjeridu, Native American flute, Celtic flute, harp, Tibetan bowls, quartz crystal bowls, chimes, tuning forks, and tingshaws. S
he has five CDs, which are journeys into the realms of sound to assist in the creation of sacred space and inner transformation.
